Ability Employment is a division of Ability Resource Association, a community organization that has served Lethbridge and area since 1953! Employment services are tailored for people with barriers to finding and maintaining employment due to disability or mental health concerns. Ability Employment has an extensive network of community partners, including employers, government funders, business partners and community agencies. Referrals come from a variety of sources including: self-referral, government departments, doctors, families/guardians and other community agencies. Individualized services include pre-employment activities, resume, job and interview skills development, job carving, interview support, job matching, and job follow-up.

Creative Employment Options helps people with disabilities prepare for, obtain and maintain employment. This unique, comprehensive and participant centered program is designed to develop the skills required to help individuals achieve their employment goals.


Job Focus is an employment service for persons with disabilities and workplace injuries. The program offers one-to-one flexible services to help individuals work towards full or part-time employment, volunteer work, or self-employment. *Offered at our Atlantic Regional Office only.


Group Employment Skills helps participants build their skills and learn how to successfully find employment. This individualized program provides both a group and one-to-one supportive learning environment. *Offered in Saskatchewan only.

Selections Career Support Services

Edmonton, AB, Canada

Selections Career Support Services is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to individuals with disabilities and other barriers by assisting them in finding and maintaining opportunities for employment and volunteering. Selections  offers three distinct programs: 


PDD (Disability Services): 

This program is designed for individuals aged 18 and older who are referred to Selections.  The aim is to help these individuals find supported, paid employment or volunteering opportunities. By offering support and resources, Selections strives to empower people with disabilities to be active participants in the   workforce and the community. 


4WRD Program: 

The 4WRD program provides career planning, skill-building, job search assistance, and ongoing support to individuals aged 16 and above who face disability-related barriers to employment. This program helps participants overcome obstacles and secure sustainable employment, fostering independence and self-sufficiency. 


Get Ready In Trades Program: 

This initiative is specifically tailored for youth between the ages of 16 and 29 who encounter barriers to employment and are interested in pursuing a career in the trades industry. Selections provides the necessary guidance, training, and support to help these young individuals embark on a career path within the trades sector.

Employment Works

EmploymentWorks is a proven program that offers employment preparedness training and support, combined with job sampling and hands-on experience to autistic adults and persons with disabilities. The program is designed for individuals who want to enter or return to the workforce, and are willing to develop and practice the skills needed to support employment success. The program is currently offered in two formats: In-Person and Online.


Launch + Skills

Launch + Skills is an individualized skills coaching program designed to help autistic individuals who are ready to pursue goals in employment, education, or living independently in the community. Whether you are a teenager transitioning to adulthood, or you are already an adult, Launch + Skills was developed as an intensive program to help you learn the skills you need to achieve your goals.

WJS Canada

WJS Canada provides social services to children, youth, adults and families facing difficulties. We take a personalized, trauma-informed approach to care in an environment of cultural respect and support.
